Clwyd - the heart of North Wales...
Clwyd is a beautiful constituency situated in the heart of North Wales.
The constituency was formed by combining the UK parliamentary seats of Clwyd East and Clwyd North and brings together communities from Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and part of Wrexham.
It stretches from the coastal towns of Rhyl and Prestatyn through market towns such as Ruthin and Mold, reaching west toward Colwyn Bay and south towards Llangollen.
Clwyd is a large and diverse constituency and reflects both the diversity and contradictions of north-east Wales: seaside tourism, rural farming communities, post-industrial towns and growing commuter areas.
The people of Clwyd are as diverse as its landscapes, whilst many have settled here from elsewhere in the United Kingdom, Welsh is still the first language in many homes, particularly in the more rural areas.
