Commenting on the response of the North Wales Community Health Council to Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s reconfiguration proposals, Darren Millar AM, Shadow Minister for Health, said:
"The Community Health Council’s response raises concerns that this consultation on significant proposed changes to NHS services has not been sufficiently inclusive, which has left some patients unable to have their say.
"It is unacceptable that members of the Community Health Council feel they were not given sufficient information to be able to properly scrutinise such drastic proposals – if they can’t access such data, what hope is there for residents across North Wales?
"This lack of effective engagement and a failure to provide clear information about the possible risks to patient care of reconfiguration amounts to a flawed consultation process.
"The Health Board must address these concerns as a matter of urgency."
