Clwyd West AM Darren Millar is calling on the Welsh Government to provide speedy advice and financial support to the many charities and community organisations that are struggling as a result of the coronavirus outbreak.
Darren has been contacted by a number of churches, community organisations and charities supporting vulnerable people, who, as a result of the impact of Covid-19, will not be able to pay their financial commitments, including staff and premises costs, without Welsh Government support.
Darren is therefore calling on those in power in Wales to take fast action to guide them at this worrying time and to also provide them with the financial support they require in order to continue assisting people.
He said:
“It is absolutely imperative that our charities and community organisations are not over looked as financial support is dished out by the Welsh Government.
“Even at the best of times the services and help they provide, particularly to the vulnerable, are crucially important, but they will be needed more than ever over these challenging months ahead.
“It is therefore essential that they receive the guidance and support they desperately need right now and I urge the Welsh Government to heed their calls and act on them urgently to prevent any of these wonderful charities and organisations from going under”.
