Colwyn Bay school girl's 'Gift of Love' Christmas card design scoops top prize

A Colwyn Bay school girl's Christmas card design has scooped her the top prize in Clwyd West MS Darren Millar's annual Christmas card competition.

Every year, Darren invites school pupils across his constituency to design a Christmas card, which he sends out across the local area.

This year's theme was the 'Best Christmas Gift' and 11-year-old Elizabeth Lambourne of Ysgol Pen-y-Bryn based her design on the 'Gift of Love'.

Darren said:

"As always choosing an overall winner wasn't easy, but Elizabeth's design has everything we were looking for - it is festive, colourful, contemporary, and unique.

"I also loved that she chose the 'gift of love', which really is the best gift you can give someone at Christmas time.

"Elizabeth's design will be sent out to thousands and I'm sure everyone who receives my Christmas card this year will really appreciate her artistic flair.

“It was great to meet Elizabeth in person at Ysgol Pen-y-Bryn this week to congratulate her on her fantastic design, and present her with her prize.

"I would like to thank all the children who entered my competition this year. My office team and I really enjoyed going through all the wonderful designs - we really do have a lot of talented young artists here in Clwyd West!"
