Clwyd MS Darren Millar has praised Denbigh Men’s/Women’s Shed after a recent visit to meet members and seeing first-hand the positive impact the project is having in bringing people together and helping to tackle social isolation.

During the visit, Darren was welcomed by trustees of the shed and toured the workshop and gardens.

The Men's/Women's Shed is a charity that works to promote social inclusion, providing opportunities and facilities for people, particularly men aged 18 or over in Denbigh and the surrounding area, to meet to undertake creative, physical or recreational activities and to learn or pass on skills and knowledge and support each other socially.

Commenting after his visit, Darren said:

"It was a pleasure to visit the Denbigh Shed to see first-hand how it is providing a welcoming space where people can learn new skills, share experiences, and build last friendships.

"Community organisations like this are at the heart of our local communities, providing far more than a space to work on practical projects. This Shed is a lifeline for community connection.

"The project helps tackle loneliness, improves mental well-being and creates opportunities for people of varying backgrounds to connect, learn and support one another.

"I very much enjoyed meeting all the members and seeing the range of projects they have been working on.

"I would urge anyone who is looking for companionship and to learn new skills to consider joining. They are a friendly bunch, and they will certainly make you feel welcome."
