Clwyd West Assembly Member Darren Millar has applauded a biking business in his constituency, which is experiencing huge success, after visiting them last week.
Oneplanet Adventure which is based in Llandegla Forest attracts 150,000 visitors a year, most of whom come to enjoy the incredible mountain biking trials that have been developed by the company in the forest.
The trails are amongst the best in the UK and attract people from around the UK and Europe.
Darren visited the company on Friday, along with Cllr Martyn Holland, to hear about their plans for the future.
He said:
“What Oneplanet have achieved at this site is incredible and I’m not surprised that people travel from far and wide to visit.
“They provide the perfect opportunity for action and adventure in the great outdoors, whether it be a peaceful family walk on one of their marked footpaths or an adrenalin fuelled blast around their mountain bike trails in the UK. They also have an impressive visitor centre.”
Darren, who in May called on the Welsh Government to support mountain biking organisations hoping to extend the experiences they provide, added:
“It is great to see forests in Wales being utilised for tourism and recreation.
“The business is a real asset to the local area and the visitor numbers it is attracting are just phenomenal. They have some exciting plans for the future and I wish them every success as they take the business forward.”
Cllr Martyn Holland said: “It was great to visit Oneplanet Adventure to see all that they have achieved to date and to hear about their plans for the future. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful attraction on our doorstep. I wish them every success in the future.”
