Today, at First Minister’s Questions, the Leader of the Welsh Conservatives condemned “terrorism-supporting protesters” for fuelling “hatred on our streets” on the second anniversary of the October 7th massacre by Hamas terrorists in Israel.
Darren Millar MS urged the First Minister to join him, the Prime Minister and Home Secretary in calling for these protests to be called off. She failed to do so.
Millar asked what practical action that the Welsh Government is taking to help Jewish people feel safe in our communities, given the rising tide of antisemitism and in the wake of the Heaton Park Synagogue attack last week.
Commenting, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Darren Millar MS said:
“I have condemned these hateful protests. Their timing is deliberate and I am not afraid to say that terrorism-supporting protesters are fuelling hatred on our streets.
“These protests must be stopped. I am disappointed to hear that the First Minister disagrees.
“The Welsh Labour Government and UK Labour Government need to get to grips with the rising tide of antisemitism and to play its part in ensuring Jewish people feel safe in our communities.”
