At First Minister’s Questions (FMQs) today, the Leader of the Welsh Conservatives challenged the First Minister to scrap the Welsh Government’s costly non-devolved spending items, such as their Uganda tree planting scheme, overseas embassies, constitutional commission and criminal justice delivery.
The Welsh Conservatives have reiterated calls for the Welsh Government’s Nation of Sanctuary policy to be scrapped, to put the people of Wales first and to end housing, healthcare and benefits spending on illegal migrants.
Commenting after his exchange with the First Minister, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Darren Millar MS said:
“Welsh Labour must end their wasteful spending on on-devolved areas like their Nation of Sanctuary policy. They must stop spending money on benefits, housing and healthcare for illegal migrants.
“We must not forget that Labour’s Nation of Sanctuary policy has enjoyed full-throated support from Plaid Cymru, in fact, they have pushed for the policy to go even further.
“The Welsh Conservatives are clear: the Nation of Sanctuary policy must be scrapped, because the people of Wales and our public services must come first.”
