Clwyd West AM and Shadow Health Minister Darren Millar has criticised Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board for further disruption at Ruthin Community Hospital Minor Injuries Unit.
The Unit has been closed today (November 15th) and will remain shut until a week on Monday.
Last month, opening hours at the unit were reduced for two weeks due to staff sickness.
Darren has been advised that the latest disruption is down to a shortage of nurses.
He said:
"This is simply not good enough. There seems to be constant disruption at the Minor Injuries Unit at Ruthin Community Hospital which is very worrying for my constituents who are already anxious about the proposed closure of the Unit.
"Just before Christmas last year Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board closed the Unit for three months due to winter pressures, then last month opening hours at the Unit were reduced for two weeks and now the Unit has been closed again forcing patients to travel to access services, which is ludicrous when there is a Unit on their doorstep.
"This Unit serves a population from Ruthin and many miles around and it is out of order for the health board to keep disrupting this vital facility."
