The Health Minister, Lesley Griffiths, will be visiting Ruthin Hospital at 11am tomorrow for a meeting with Ruthin Hospital Action Group which is campaigning for the protection of services at the hospital.
The meeting is taking place at the request of Clwyd West Assembly Member and Shadow Health Minister Darren Millar, who is backing the group’s campaign.
He said:
“I am very pleased that the Health Minister has agreed to meet Ruthin Hospital Action Group to discuss the future of the services there which face the axe.
“The group is seriously concerned that under Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s controversial NHS reconfiguration plans, the hospital could see an end to its Minor Injuries Unit and X-ray services.
“The group will be telling the Minister that Ruthin Community Hospital is an important part of the health jigsaw in rural Denbighshire and it is vital that its services are maintained – I hope she takes onboard what they have to say.”
