Darren Millar MS, Member of the Senedd for Clwyd, has praised Llanferres Community Council following the completion of major improvements at Maes Ysgawen Park in Llanferres.
The project, which includes enhanced accessibility, a community garden, an outdoor shelter, a nature trail and dedicated areas for play, contemplation and wildlife, were made possible thanks to a £250,000 grant from the National Lottery awarded to Llanferres Community Council.
Darren Millar MS said:
“I was delighted to support the Community Council’s application for funding for this project back in 2024.
“It is fantastic to now see the work completed. The transformed park will benefit both local residents and visitors, providing a welcoming space where people of all ages can play, relax, enjoy nature and spend time together.”
He added:
“It was great to see so many local families come together at the recent Open Day to celebrate the transformation and enjoy a range of activities and refreshments organised by the Community Council.
“The new facilities and play equipment will bring joy to families in the community for many years to come.
“I would like to thank everyone involved in making this project a reality particularly Llanferres Community Council, including Chair Allan Morgans and Clerk Margaret Narburgh as well as the National Lottery Community Fund for its generous support.”
