Leader of the Welsh Conservatives and Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has applauded the annual Denbigh and Flint Show after attending the packed agricultural event yesterday.
During his visit Darren watched some of the shows and visited a selection of the many stalls.
He was particularly pleased to meet with farmers to listen to their concerns.
Speaking after the show, Darren said:
“It is always a real pleasure to attend this popular annual show at the Green, Denbigh, which once again brought the best of North Wales farming and agriculture together.
“It was great to see so many people in attendance and I thank everyone involved in organising the show, which is a real highlight in the summer calendar.
“The sun was shining and I had an enjoyable time meeting with various groups, charities, small businesses and organisations at their stands.
“Given the challenges currently facing our farmers, I was especially pleased to have another opportunity to chat with them and listen to their legitimate concerns.
“They are primarily worried about the detrimental impact of Labour’s damaging Sustainable Farming Scheme, changes to Inheritance Tax, the lack of action to tackle Bovine TB in wildlife, and, more recently, concerns over the spread of Bluetongue.
“Our farmers are the backbone of rural Wales and I assured them once again that Welsh Conservatives will continue doing everything we can to support them.”
