The BBC have reported that Welsh Labour and Plaid Cymru have reached a deal to pass their Final Budget, in advance of the 2026 Senedd election.
Plaid Cymru and Labour have struck budget deals routinely since devolution began in Wales, as part of coalition and cooperation deals between the two parties, including for every single annual budget this Senedd term, bar one.
Commenting, Leader of the Welsh Conservatives, Darren Millar MS said:
“Yet again, it appears that the Welsh Government is set to pass a budget that falls short, thanks to this deal which has been struck.
“The Welsh Conservatives reached out to the First Minister in good faith to offer a bold agenda to cut tax and cut wasteful spending in order to get the Welsh economy moving again, but she has decided to take this route instead.
"This deal will mean yet more of the same wasteful spending on extra politicians, overseas embassies and trees, instead of focusing resources on the priorities of the people of Wales, and putting more cash into people's pockets."
