Major investment at a Kinmel Bay holiday park has been praised by Leader of the Welsh Conservatives and Clwyd West MS Darren Millar, who was impressed by the new facilities on a recent visit.
Sunnyvale Holiday Village have invested more than £1.5 million into their new gym, spa, treatment room, sports hall, office and owners’ lounge.
They have also received support from Conwy County Borough Council’s business team for a grant to part fund solar panels on the roof and from Business Wales. The panels generate enough energy to power the building during daylight hours.
Darren recently paid a visit to the holiday village and was given a tour by holiday park owner Rob Jones.
Speaking afterwards, he said:
“Sunnyvale Holiday Village is in a spectacular location next to the sea and it is always a pleasure to visit.
“Since the last time I was there a lot has been done to boost the park’s appeal further.
“The new facilities truly are impressive and anyone planning a holiday there this year are in for a real treat.
“Those who like to keep fit whilst on their holiday, will absolutely love the new gym, and I’m sure that visitors will also enjoy indulging at the spa and treatment room.
“It is good to see family run and established businesses investing and improving what they offer their customers, and I was told there has already been a great response from local people and caravan and lodge owners to the new facilities.
“I was also pleased to hear that they had used local suppliers where they could whilst carrying out the works.”
He added:
“Sunnyvale is a real asset to North Wales and having seen all that they have done to improve the holiday village, I am confident that the park will continue to thrive.
“I thank Rob and his team for inviting me to visit and wish them all the best for the busy summer season ahead.”
