Members of the Senedd, leaders from civil society and representatives from the Catholic Church, as well as Wales’s other faith communities, gathered in Cardiff this week for a special reception hosted and sponsored by Leader of the Welsh Conservatives and Clwyd West MS, Darren Millar.
At the Wednesday evening event, Darren gave a speech highlighting the work of the Catholic community across Wales.
He said:
"The Catholic community in Wales has an enduring presence, bringing hope, supporting those in need, and helping to drive excellence in education across the nation.
"From schools, to combatting poverty, to supporting community cohesion, the environment, interfaith dialogue, and so much more, the Catholic church and volunteers are making q positive difference in people's lives, living out the gospel, as well as proclaiming it."
The Most Reverend Mark O’Toole, the Archbishop of Cardiff-Menevia, also addressed the audience.
Darren added:
"The Christian faith is central to my life, and I am so grateful for the encouragement of faithful Catholics who pray earnestly for me and my family, including Archbishop Mark in Cardiff and Bishop Peter in Wrexham."
