Over 70s urged to contact vaccination helpline if they are yet to be contacted for their jab

Clwyd West MS Darren Millar is calling on those aged 70 and over to get in touch with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board’s vaccination helpline if they have not yet received an appointment for their jab.

The coronavirus vaccine rollout in North Wales continues apace with 130,112 doses having been delivered in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board as of 7th February.

Everyone in Groups 1-4 below should now have been contacted regarding their vaccination appointment:

  1. Residents in a care home for older adults and their carers
  2. All those 80 years of age and over and frontline health and social care workers
  3. All those 75 years of age and over
  4. All those 70 years of age and over and clinically extremely vulnerable individuals

Darren said:

“If you, or someone you know, are aged 70 years or over and are yet to be contacted to receive your first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine then please call the vaccination helpline 03000 840004 to arrange your appointment.

“This number should only to be used to book appointments for people aged 70 and older and not for any other reason. The call centre is open between 8am and 8pm and the Health Board has advised that the best time to call is in the late afternoon or evening when it is less busy than other times.

“Those aged under 70 should continue to wait to be contacted by the NHS for their vaccination appointment.”

He added:

“The UK vaccine rollout has been phenomenal and I’m delighted to see that Wales is now leading in the race to protect people from harm. I want to put on record my thanks to our brilliant NHS staff, the military, and the army of volunteers working around the clock to rollout vaccines in North Wales.”
