Rhos-on-Sea Post Office set to be relocated

A well-used post office in Rhos-on-Sea is to be relocated safeguarding post office services in the area.

The Llandrillo Yn Rhos Post Office branch is set to move to Go Local at 106-106A Penrhyn Avenue, Rhos-On-Sea, Colwyn Bay, where it will operate as one of the Post Office’s local style branches

The reason for the move is down to the fact that the current postmaster has resigned and the premises will no longer be available for Post Office use.

Following a public consultation a spokesperson for Post Office Ltd stated:

“After careful consideration of the feedback received, we remain confident that the layout and location of the new branch will continue to meet customer needs and deliver an excellent service, whilst securing the long-term viability of Post Office services in the local community. We’re currently making the final arrangements for the move and further information will be provided in branch once the dates have been agreed.”

Commenting on the move, Clwyd West MS Darren Millar said:

“While the new location will be further for some and nearer for others, I am extremely pleased that a new agent has been appointed and that these much-used post office services will be safeguarded in the locality in the longer term.

“Our local Post Office branches are at the heart of communities right across North Wales

“Customers and small businesses rely on their local branch every day to access a wide range of services. The relocation of Llandrillo Yn Rhos Post Office will enable the Post Office to maintain a service to their customers within the local community.”
