Clwyd West AM Darren Millar called for a cuppa at a Denbighshire based community-run shop on Friday to celebrate them winning a prestigious award.
Siôp Pwllglas, near Ruthin, received the title of Village Shop of the Year 2015 at the Countryside Alliance Awards which took place at the Senedd last month.
When Darren called to congratulate them on Friday afternoon he found himself tempted by their array of quality local produce and left with a bag full of goodies.
He said:
“It is always an absolute pleasure to visit the wonderful team at Siôp Pwllglas. When I officially opened the shop three years ago, I don’t think any of us envisaged how successful it would become.
“It has really become the heart of the local community and has now received two awards in the Countryside Alliance Awards.
“The team of volunteers are doing fantastic work in championing quality local produce and providing an outlet for local producers, as well as providing a meeting place and information point for residents.
“I’m sure they will continue going from strength to strength and I look forward to returning soon for some more quality goods.”
