Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has called on Conwy County Council to take immediate action to make an Abergele school playground safe.
Pupils at Ysgol Glan Gele in Abergele have been banned from their playground after it was re-surfaced 'like a cheese-grater'.
Governors and parents say it is too rough for the children and could leave them "scarred for life" if they were to fall on it.
Pupils have written letters to council bosses asking them to sort it out so they can enjoy playing out again.
Darren is backing their calls and has also contacted the local education authority urging them to take speedy action to resolve the situation to enable the children to play in a safe environment.
He said: "The local authority need to pull their fingers out and get it made safe as soon as possible.
"We don't want to put our children at risk of seriously hurting themselves. They need to get this sorted immediately."
