Land-based further education opportunities were the topic of discussion when Clwyd West AM Darren Millar called at a Denbighshire college last week.
Darren was joined by Leader of the Welsh Conservatives Andrew RT Davies AM on Friday for a visit to Coleg Llysfasi in Ruthin.
They met with the Principal, David Jones OBE, and his team to discuss land-based further education and toured the recently improved dairy facilities at the college.
They were joined on the visit by local farmer Denbighshire County Councillor Huw Williams.
Darren said:
“It is always a pleasure to visit Coleg Llysfasi. It’s a wonderful facility which is continually looking to extend the opportunities available to its students.
“It was great to meet up with David Jones and his team and to find out more about their plans for the future of land-based further education which is dedicated to creating and inspiring the next generation of farmers and preparing students for careers in the agriculture industry.
“I am extremely pleased these opportunities are on the doorstep for those looking to pursue a career in this field and thank David and his team for taking the time to tell us more about the land-based courses on offer.”
Andrew RT Davies added: “There are vast opportunities within the land-based industries and hopefully Coleg Llysfasi offering such excellent courses in this area will encourage more youngsters to pursue careers in the sector.”
