Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has hit out at Welsh Government Ministers for giving Conwy and Denbighshire residents yet another raw deal in the Council funding settlement for next year, which was announced yesterday.
Cardiff got the best deal and South Wales Councils are set to get much better funding on average than in other parts of Wales.
Darren said:
“This unfair settlement is likely to hit local people hard when they get their council tax bills next year. Time and again Labour Ministers have refused to implement a council tax freeze in Wales, as Conservatives have done in England since 2010.
“It is disappointing that in recent years council tax has been rising faster in Wales than in other parts of the UK.
“This settlement is undoubtedly a brutal blow for front-line services in communities throughout Wales. They will all suffer, it is just a great shame that, yet again, the people of North Wales look set to pay the biggest price.”
