100 days on from the introduction of ‘special measures’ at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, the Shadow Minister for Health has criticised progress.
The Labour government finally escalated intervention in north Wales following months of calls from Welsh Conservatives.
Improvements were promised within 100 days.
Welsh Conservative Shadow Minister for Health, Darren Millar AM, said:
“There is a perception in North Wales that problems in the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board are showing no signs of letting up.
"It’s now 100 days since Labour Ministers finally caved in to our demands to put the Health Board into special measures but in spite of promises to turn things around little appears to have changed.
“The people of North Wales are fed up with apologies and excuses for failure. Hard working staff, patients and their loved ones want to see progress and improvement.
“It’s time for the Labour Government to stand and deliver.”
