Clwyd West AM Darren Millar has welcomed news that a Ruthin project is to benefit from the latest round of National Lottery funding.
Ymlaen Rhuthun - Ruthin Forward are one of a total of 75 community-based projects across Wales sharing in £269,968 awarded under the latest round of the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All small grants programme.
Ymlaen Rhuthun - Ruthin Forward, which was formed in March 2009 with the purpose of creating an identity for Ruthin, whilst subsequently supporting the people of the town, its traders and well-wishers, will receive £1,565.
Darren said:
"It is great news that this fantastic project has been selected to benefit from this latest round of funding. Ymlaen Rhuthun - Ruthin Forward is doing a great job creating awareness of the town by organising a series of annual events, but being a voluntary, not-for-profit organisation it has to rely on donations and community spirited goodwill, as well as proceeds from its events, therefore this funding will be much appreciated."
Gareth Williams, Awards for All Funding Manager for BIG in Wales, added:
"Awards for All is having a positive impact throughout Wales. Money is helping to establish groups, societies and clubs, promoting learning, increasing volunteering opportunities and helping to build stronger communities."
